"WE'RE NOT BROKEN, JUST BENT."

3:28 AM

This is a lyric from P!NK's song "Just Give Me A Reason" and I love it.

For those with depression, we can often feel "broken" and not just broken at that, but like we're broken beyond repair. We can feel like there's something wrong with us because we don't seem to "work" the way other people do.

We're not as happy.

We don't seem as capable of doing everyday things as they are.

We can feel like there's a constant stormy cloud in our skies, whilst others' seem crystal blue with just the perfect amount of sun.

But you know what? None of us are broken beyond repair. We are all "fixable" for we are not broken, just bent. And we may have creases, scars, lines that will remain with us as we bend back straight-ward, but they just show to us what we have overcome. And how amazing that is.

On the note of bending back straight-ward and having creases and all that jazz. . .just know that you may not be the same as you were before your depression hit, and that's okay. New and greater things are in store for you.

If this (the depression) has been a life long thing, you may feel as if you don't know who you are without the pain, and that's okay, but remember. . .

You are so much more than your depression. Do not let it define you.

You have depression, it is a part of you, but it is not all of you. You have talents, personality, ambitions, even if they're buried deep inside you. I know you can find them.

Remember. . .

You're not broken. . .you're just bent, but you can learn to live again (see what I did there??!)

Chin up, stand tall, you're going to be okay, I love you. . .
